By using FrenchPathway you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written in plain language and protect both of us.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you ("you", "user") and FrenchPathway Inc. ("FrenchPathway", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the FrenchPathway platform at frenchpathway.ca ("the Service").
By creating an account, making a purchase, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
FrenchPathway is an online French language exam preparation platform designed to help users prepare for the TCF Canada and TEF Canada examinations administered by Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) and the Paris Chamber of Commerce respectively.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. Accounts created on behalf of someone else are not permitted without explicit written authorization.

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes where required by law. Access begins on the date of payment and expires at the end of the stated period. No plan offers unlimited or lifetime access.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. FrenchPathway never stores or has access to your credit or debit card information. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Consumer Terms.
Your plan is activated immediately upon successful payment confirmation from Stripe. Access is tied to the email address used at checkout. If you experience any issue with access after payment, contact support@frenchpathway.ca with your receipt.
All FrenchPathway plans are one-time purchases for the stated access period. We do not auto-renew or charge you again without your explicit action.
We want you to feel confident buying. Our refund policy is straightforward:
Email support@frenchpathway.ca with subject line "Refund Request — [your email]". Include your purchase receipt or Stripe payment ID. We process refund requests within 3 business days. Funds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
FrenchPathway offers a referral program that rewards you when someone you refer makes a qualifying purchase.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time. Pending rewards at the time of termination will be honoured.
FrenchPathway uses AI language models (currently Claude by Anthropic) to provide automated scoring and feedback on your practice responses. By using these features, you acknowledge:
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension without refund and, where appropriate, reporting to law enforcement.
All content on the FrenchPathway platform — including but not limited to practice questions, audio recordings, study materials, scoring rubrics, UI design, and code — is the intellectual property of FrenchPathway Inc. or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the platform solely for your personal exam preparation. This licence does not permit you to:
Practice responses and writing samples you submit remain your intellectual property. By submitting them, you grant us a limited, royalty-free licence to process them solely for the purpose of generating your score and feedback.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
We do not guarantee that using FrenchPathway will result in passing the TCF Canada or TEF Canada examination, achieving a target CLB score, or obtaining any immigration outcome. Exam performance depends on many factors outside our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FrenchPathway Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
In all cases, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to FrenchPathway in the 3 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FrenchPathway Inc. and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.
You may stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and request deletion of your data, email support@frenchpathway.ca. Closing your account does not automatically trigger a refund; refund eligibility is governed by Section 5.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, if you: violate these Terms; engage in fraudulent activity; abuse the referral system; or create risk or legal exposure for FrenchPathway or other users.
On termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law) survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at support@frenchpathway.ca and give us 30 days to resolve the issue in good faith.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada, conducted in English, under the rules of the ADR Institute of Canada. Each party bears its own legal costs unless the arbitrator determines otherwise.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.
